It’s obviously clear that when it comes to the market regarding the global positioning system, or GPS, you have many different ways you can go and the choices are always changing or evolving. We’ve spent some time talking about the different GPS systems but I’d like to switch gears a little bit and talk about other kinds of GPS technology: specifically the kind you can get with a smartphone.
You’ve probably seen the numerous apps on your smartphone if you have mobilebroadband4g or any other really powerful wireless service. However, you may not have realized that, amidst the flood of countless apps, sites like MapQuest have their very own smartphone apps.
The MapQuest app can be downloaded for free along with all the necessary updates whenever they are available and offers turn-by-turn instructions and a detailed map of your travel route for easy access. It beats having to fumble with a map while you’re on the road and it can be a cheap alternative if you already have a smartphone and are in the market for a GPS.
While it isn’t the most reliable alternative, it is one of the best when it comes to saving yourself a couple hundred dollars and one alternative worth exploring.
